LANDMARK LAGOON

The El Hito Lagoon is a natural space included in the Natura 2000 Network considered as a wetland of international importance by the Unesco Ramsar Convention. It houses an excellent representation of the saline steppe landscapes of the Mediterranean and has priority habitats and unique endangered species. The lagoon is also the second most important crane wintering area in Spain, and both the wetland and the surrounding saline areas and crops are of vital importance for numerous bird species, with special relevance for steppe birds. On this visit you will get to know the rich landscape of La Mancha.

CHEESE TASTING – VILLAREJO ARTISAN CHEESES

Visit one of the most famous cheese factories in La Mancha, whose cheeses receive the best international awards year after year. Among its products are cheeses made with raw milk from La Mancha sheep, thus obtaining the qualification of Cheese with Denomination of Origin Ntra. Sra. de Fuentes. On this visit you will learn to recognize Manchego cheeses, their characteristics and their flavor in a tasting that you will not forget.

SEGOBRIGA ARCHAEOLOGICAL PARK

Segóbriga Archaeological Park. One of the most important vestiges of the Roman world. The city was the center of economic control and commercialization of the Lapis Specularis Mines, known as the Crystal of Hispania, which allowed its economic boom and its monumentalization from the time of Augustus. One of the best examples of a Roman city in the interior of the peninsula and which was the center of lapis specularis mining, the true economic engine of the area in Roman times, something that is clearly reflected in the urban planning of the city itself. There are only 7 Roman cities in Spain that have a theatre, an amphitheater and a circus, and one of them is Segóbriga. We will be able to enjoy an ancient Roman theater and step on the sand of an authentic amphitheatre, as well as visit and see the route of some Roman baths. Enjoy it with the only excursion to Segóbriga from Madrid.
